What drives the cost

What drives video production cost in Los Angeles.

These are preliminary budget ranges. Your project’s scope determines the final quote.

Starting ranges by video type

One shoot day, single camera, one video under 3 minutes.

What shapes your estimate

  • Shoot days

×0.85 to ×2.3 multiplies the range

From a half-day shoot to a multi-day production. More filming time means additional crew and equipment costs.

  • Production setup

+15% to +40% added to the range

The crew, cameras, lighting and equipment needed to bring your project to life.

  • Deliverables

+20% to +120% added to the range

One main video, shorter versions or a complete series. The number and complexity of your edits affect the budget.

  • Locations and length

    +10% to +85% a smaller bump

Additional locations require more coordination and filming time. Longer videos can require more editing and finishing.

  • Add-ons

    $250–$4,000 per service

Scriptwriting, teleprompter support, motion graphics, voiceover, captions and more, based on what your project needs.

How much does video production cost in Los Angeles?

Most projects start between $3,000 and $22,000, depending on the type: an executive interview starts around $3,000–$6,000, a commercial around $10,000–$22,000. Shoot days, production setup and deliverables move it most.

How much should a 3-minute video cost?

Under three minutes is our baseline, and three to five minutes adds about 10%. A 3-minute corporate video filmed in one day starts around $6,500–$14,000.

How much does a 10-minute video cost?

Videos over ten minutes add about 40% to the starting range for their type. A 10-minute corporate or training film filmed in one day starts around $8,000–$17,000.

How much is a videographer for 4 hours?

We price by project, not by the hour, and the edit is included. A half-day shoot runs at about 85% of a full day: an executive interview filmed in half a day starts between $2,500 and $5,500.

Why does video production cost more in LA?

Crew day rates are higher here, most public locations need a FilmLA permit, and parking, travel and insurance add up. In return, crew, gear and stages are close by.

Is the calculator’s number a quote?
